Grief Is an Initiation

When held as a transformational rite of passage, grief walks us to the threshold of death as a preparation for enhanced living. The choice to embark on grief work ushers you into a new inner landscape and onto an internal hero’s journey that changes you without going anywhere.

 

Loss, change, death, and grief have the power to reconfigure the architecture of your being, making space for transformation, new vision, enhanced appreciation, a refreshed perspective, and crystalline clarity. These massive pattern interrupts have the potential to unlock energy and open you to new ways of being, rooted in meaning and purpose.

 

Moving grief energy and tending to it with patience and kindness opens a gateway to connection. As we learn to care for our hearts, our hearts teach us about connection. Though it can be painful to dwell in and live from the tender heart space, it can be a remedy for the fractured and fragmenting times we are experiencing. Whereas cerebral intelligence clocks and organizes differences, heart intelligence identifies and harmonizes similarities, creating a greater sense of belonging and oneness. I believe that grief works provides us with the opportunity to look back in order to move forward differently.

 

In the final class in the Turning Toward Grief Series, Nourish & Empower, we will focus on setting grief free from the body and moving toward comfort. We’ll practice grounding exercises that assist in creating presence where healing happens. Grief is non-linear and operates on its own schedule, so while everything unfolds in its right timing, we also get to fill up on the good stuff.

Over the last 4 classes, we have taken the body on a journey of strengthening, discovery, release, and integration. In our final class, we will gently land the arc by prioritizing nourishing breath, nurturing movement, and embodied intuition. Through a simple yet transformative somatic practice, you will access your embodied intuition, allowing your body's wisdom choose how to move forward holding grief, wisdom, and beautiful possibility.
