We Grieve Together
Whether we work together one-on-one, you attend my classes, read my newsletters, or we don’t yet know each other, but you’re getting curious about grief: I want to thank you for showing up to this grief work— for yourself & for the collective.
Mushrooms make me think of grief because part of their role is to break things down, to digest the old – what was – to create fertile compost to nourish what is coming, creating conditions for new life to emerge.
The grieving process is similar. It breaks us down so we can emerge transformed. Like consuming mushrooms, grief is mostly harmless, but not without risk. Some mushrooms can poison us, while others can bring us profound healing and previously unimaginable transformation. The parallel there to grief is that interruptions in the grieving process can create inner disruptions which harm our whole life, often manifesting in symptoms that affect the physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
Like mushrooms linked by mycelium, our grief doesn't stay isolated within us – it impacts our relationships, it impacts culture, it impacts the entire collective consciousness. Our healing and well-being are interdependent and by showing up for yourself, you show up for all of us, so THANK YOU.
Grief is non-linear – it's never too late to tend to it, and becoming aware of what you're grieving is a profound step in that tending. Thank you for your courage in turning toward grief.
May your grief yield bountiful blessings to you – and to all of us.
